ll classes do some gardening but 5th an 6th Class do most of it and are helped by teachers, SNA and parents.
The garden was established in 2010 and it is a mixed garden. They grow vegetables and fruit. They have lovely features such as a stream and mature trees. They have a lawn as well as a gravel area. They have an outdoor classroom by the stream, which is great to use on warm days. They have a composting area, an insect hotel and a log pile for the little creatures to hibernate during the winter. They also have a pergola and arch that they are training thornless roses to climb. They have famine pots and tyre pots, a fairy village, butterfly mosaics, a water butt, a pink curved wall and butterflies that 5th & 6th created in crafts class made from old tinfoil plates which they decorated.
This year they have added a lovely mural of a wildflower garden. All pupils did some painting under the guidance of Jesse, their S.N.A. This garden has something for everyone.
