COVID-19 Club Small Grant Scheme

In June 2020 the Government approved an investment programme of up to €70 million to support the sports sector.  As part of the fund Sport Ireland (SI) announced a funding scheme designed to support clubs/groups that do not have the finances to implement COVID-19 related hygiene and social distancing protocols. A fund of €5 million has been allocated to support clubs/groups across the Country. Cork currently has over two thousand clubs and many more community groups with sport and physical activity central to their core function. Please note the maximum amount of funding available per club is €1,500.

Maurice O Sullivan the Sports and Marketing Manager with CSP is leading the coordination of the scheme as each LSP is responsible for administering the fund at a local level. A panel will be created to review and shortlist all applications received before we submit for final approval to SI. SI are uncertain as to the level of funding that will be required overall, however I want to ensure that all funding that is needed for clubs in Cork is submitted. The closing date for receipt of applications is 17:00 on Friday 4th September. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.  Full details of the grant are available on the CSP website:
