Camden Fort Meagher to Come Alive with Culture

Camden Fort Meagher in Crosshaven, having recently reopened its doors to the public, will play host to three awesome Arts events in June, July and August of 2022.

Camden Fort Meagher, Crosshaven has reopened to visitors this summer season from May 28th. This will be the first time the 16th Century coastal artillery fort opens to the public in 2 years, following a temporary closure due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Camden Fort Meagher, overlooking Cork Harbour, is steeped in history, having played a significant role for 400 years as a strategic defensive position. Large structures on the surface hide the bulk of the fort beneath, with 65% of it located underground.

Three events, featuring live performance by musicians Billy Kennedy & Fiona Kennedy, as well as a range of family-friendly activities and picnicing areas, will occur throughout Summer 2022 - supported by Cork County Council.

The fort and tearooms are open to the public Saturdays and Sundays from the 28th of May. Further details on these planned events and re-enactments are available at camdenfortmeagher.ie and on our social media.
