Farmer Health Check June 9th
We will have a large number of exhibitors in the Mart on the day, in partnership with the North Cork HSE Health Promotion Department.
Our aim is to provide a one stop shop for Health and Information!
I would like to ask if Dermot might be available on the day to have a stand in the ground floor? To do the equipment laser tagging?
Would it be possible to include this event in the newsletter?
Please feel free to circulate the Poster and Help to get the word out!
Thank you!
Kind regards
Is mise le meas

Cork County Council Launches Grant for Irish Language Events and Initiatives 2026
Cork County Council has launched its Irish Language Events and Initiatives Grant Scheme for 2026.
Cork County Council invites applications from organisations who are planning an initiative or event which is substantially or entirely in Irish. This can include bilingual events aimed at introducing the public to the Irish language in a comfortable way.
Events can be recurring or once off occurrences. The aim of the scheme is to provide financial aid for Irish language events, projects, initiatives within the functional area of the County of Cork which benefit the community and promote the language. Previous successful projects include Film Festivals, Community and family fun days and Festivals, Concerts, Dramas, Cultural nights, Irish Classes, Poetry events, singing events, historical talks, research projects, walking tours etc. The possibilities are endless. Permanent features such as signage or interpretive boards can also be considered.
This is the fourth year of the grant scheme which was initially launched in 2023.
Cork County Council Approves €272,000 in Funding for 63 Festivals and Events Under the Local Festival and Event Fund (LFEF)
Cork County Council is pleased to announce the allocation of €272,000 euro in funding to support festivals and events across the county under the 2026 Local Festival and Event Fund. A total of 63 festivals and events have been approved for funding following a competitive application process.
The Fund, delivered by Cork County Council with support from Fáilte Ireland, plays a key role in supporting sustainable festival development and attracting visitors. In 2026, Cork County Council received 90 high standard applications seeking over €706,000 in funding, which significantly exceeded the available budget, demonstrating the continued ambition of the sector.
Of the successful applications, 55 small to medium-scale festivals and events will share €125,000 euro in funding, while 8 large-scale festivals and events have been allocated €147,000 euro to deliver large scale festivals and events with strong regional, national and international appeal.
Festivals supported under the scheme span the entire calendar year and include a wide range of cultural, music, food, sporting and family-focused events across all municipal districts, contributing to local economic, enhancing community life and extending the tourism season. This is strategically important for Cork County Council, helping to sustain visitor activity, the hospitality trade and the subsequent local economic benefits outside the traditional peak summer period.
The 2026 programme will see festivals taking place throughout the year, with particularly strong activity during the shoulder and off-peak seasons, supporting Cork County Council’s strategic focus on sustainable tourism and regional development.
