The
Health Promotion Department, HSE South in conjunction with the Cork Sports
Partnership and Go for Life are delighted to inform you that we will be hosting
PALs training in Cork during 2017. Please bring the
information below to the attention of the members of your group. The
objective of this training is to enable members of your group to carry out a
leadership role in the planning and managing of physical activities with your
group as Go for Life PALs.
The training consists of 8 workshops including activities such
as sit fit, better balance, going strong, basic principles, rolling &
bowling, pitching & tossing, stepping & strolling and PALs skills
(please see enclosed information leaflet for further information). The workshops are intended to support attendees
to lead their group in regular physical activity. Training is free of charge (tea/coffee and a light lunch will be served at each
workshop).
Each
workshop starts at 10am until 3pm and will take place in the SMA Centre, Wilton,
Cork as
follows: Please note that a minimum of two members per group is required.

As places are limited you are advised to apply early
to avoid disappointment. To
apply for a place please complete the enclosed application form and return to
the above address by Friday 10th February 2017. Priority
will be given to those groups who currently do not have any trained PALs and to
those applicants who can attend all 8 workshop days. If you have any questions please contact
