Dementia Support Groups (North Cork)

 Newmarket Dementia Café (Takes place 1st Thursday of the month)

Will take place on Thursday 1st October, 11am-12.30 in the Culturlann, Newmarket., P51 D854.

As always there will be plenty of chat, some light exercise and brain challenges! 

 

Fermoy Support Group (takes place the 2nd Thursday of the month)

Will take place on Thursday 8th October  in The Hub, 3 Brian Boru Square, Fermoy, P61 R596 7pm-8.30. This is for relatives of people with dementia and is an opportunity to get advice and information from staff and to share experiences with others.

 

Charleville Dementia Cafe (takes place on the 3rd Friday of the month)

Will take place on Friday 16th October , 11am-12.30 in the Charleville Park Hotel. This is an opportunity to meet others, challenge your brain and have fun! Aoife O'Regan from Alone will be speaking about services and assitive technology. 

 

Fermoy Dementia Café (takes place on 4th Wed of the month)

Takes place on Wednesday 28th October in Adair Hall, (adjacent to the Church of Ireland Church), 2.30-4pm. Emer Kelleher from Fermoy Library will be talking about some of the services and resources available there.  This is an opportunity to meet others, challenge your brain and have fun! 

 

Mallow Support Group (takes place on the 4th Thursday of the month)

Will take place on Thursday 22nd October  in the Alzheimer Society of Ireland Day Care Centre, Lenihans Lane, Mallow, P51 WKE3, 7-8.30pm. This is for relatives of people with dementia and is an opportunity to get advice and information from staff and to share experiences with others.

Gardening for Your Brain Group

 Gardening for Your Brain Group

As part of our ‘Try it for your Brain’ series we are facilitating a six week gardening group for people with dementia. The group includes gardening demonstrations, seed sowing, harvesting food crops and sharing stories. It is a  sociable group will include a cuppa and light refreshments.

next group Tuesday 29th September, runs every Tuesday until 27th October, ️ 2-4pm

 Pilot Exercising for the Brain Group in Newmarket  

This is a physical activity group for people with dementia that focuses on balance, range of movement, co-ordination and strength. Most importantly it is sociable and fun! 

Next session- Thurs 8th October, running for six weeks , ️11am- 11.45
