Over the last number of years Cork County Council has been producing a heritage book each year, from bridges to houses and churches to castles. The latest installment in this Heritage of County Cork Publication Series – number seven – is the Industrial Heritage of County Cork. Cork County Council was delighted to have Dr. Colin Rynne, U.C.C. on board for the publication – a book that features over 200 pages giving a great insight into the scope and range of industrial heritage in the County of Cork.
As a new undertaking, this year, 2019, also sees the publishing of a colouring book of heritage and cultural sites from throughout the County of Cork, aptly titled ‘The Colourful Heritage of County Cork’. Cork County Council’s Heritage Unit and Creative Ireland Culture Team worked with a range of different illustrators and the end product should prove most popular with people of all ages.
The books are being launched in the County Library Exhibition Room by the Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Christopher O’Sullivan, on Monday 9th December at 09:15 in the presence of Chief Executive Tim Lucey and Directors of Service Michael Lynch (DOS, Planning) and Niall Healy (DOS, Municipal District Operations and Rural Development). All welcome to come along on the morning. Copies of the publications will be available for sale. Fáilte romh cách.
