COVID 19 test for asymptomatic people now available at Dunmanway centre

Under the HSE’s enhanced Covid-19 testing for local communities, selected existing static test centres, which have been operational for the last year will now also facilitate Covid-19 tests without requiring an advance appointment for those who are symptom-free.

From Wednesday, April 14th  for one week, from 9am to 5pm, the static testing centre in the Randal Óg GAA Club in Dunmanway will offer COVID 19 testing to asymptomatic people in these communities. The walk-in / no appointment necessary testing will operate alongside the existing testing at the centre whereby GPs refer those with symptoms, and close contacts of a confirmed case of Covid-19, for their Covid-19 test.

A free Covid-19 test can be availed of without having an appointment in advance between 9am to 5pm each day between April 14th and April 20th (apart from Sunday April 18th).

This free, walk-in COVID-19 testing service is available to people:

- aged 16 years and over
- who do not have symptoms of Covid-19 but would like to be tested
- who have not tested positive for Covid-19 in the last six months

Please note that only one 1 test per person is available.

Photo identification is required together with a mobile telephone number so that results can be provided.

Social distancing measures will apply when people attend for testing. If the waiting times are too long people are welcome to return at another time or day.
