As part of the Cork Harbour Festival 2021, UNIC 'CityLabs' is hosting a roundtable discussion on 'the Future of Port Cities', chaired by former Irish Times Journalist Lorna Siggins. The discussion will focus on the role port cities have in helping us to rethink and redesign the future of our urban centers - in a citizen centered, diverse and ecological manner.
Join journalist Lorna Siggins, in conversation with:
- Amanda Brandellero, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Associate Professor, School of History, Culture and Communication, and member of the 'Port City Futures' group in the Netherlands.
- Conor Mowlds, Chief Commercial Officer, Port of Cork.
- Lar Joye, Port Heritage Director, Dublin Port.
The event will be opened by Feargal Reidy, Director of Services Strategic and Economic, Cork City Council; and will include a performance by UCC Quercus Scholar and Harpist Síofra Thornton. Open to the public, attendees will also include colleagues and city partners from across UNIC, the Talloires Network and the Port City Universities League.
