The Sun shone down and a warm sense of spring enveloped Atkins Garden World as the Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Dan Boyle and the Mayor of County Cork, Cllr. Joe Carroll officially launched the annual Muintir na Tire Pride in our Community Competition for Community and Tidy Towns Groups in Cork City and County.
Mayor of County Cork Cllr. Carroll said that ‘he was proud and delighted that Cork County Council continue to support this wonderful competition.’ He went on to thank all the community groups taking part for making Cork such a wonderful place for all. He urged all Community and Tidy Towns Groups in County Cork to take part. Cork County Council was represented by Seamus De Faoite, Niamh O Dwyer, Finbarr O Keeffe, Debbie Hennessy, Pauline Falvey from the Environment Directorate. The Cork County Federation of Muintir na Tire was represented by Yvonne Cahalane, Sean Holland, , Pauline O'Dwyer, Tara O Donoghue and Denis Kelly, while Atkins Garden World was represented by Manager Cornelia Creedon. Carrigaline Tidy Towns winners of the Pride of Cork County Award in 2024, were represented by Maura Allen, Marie O’Mahony and Niamh Brody.

Cork City Council was represented by Claire Kelly, Environmental Awareness Officer and Rosemary Mc Donald Biodiversity Officer from the Community, Culture & Placemaking Directorate. The Cork County Federation of Muintir na Tire was represented by Yvonne Cahalane, Sean Holland, Pauline O'Dwyer, Tara O Donoghue and Denis Kelly, while Atkins Garden World was represented by manager Cornelia Creedon.
Waterloo Renewal Group , who were Pride of Cork City winners in 2024, were represented by Collette Sheehy Elaine Mulvaney, Mary Keohane and Lorraine Dorgan.
