Cork County Council’s Arts Office is inviting members of the public to share their views about how the council can promote the enjoyment of and participation in the arts in County Cork.
The new Arts Plan 2025-2029 will set out the direction, priorities and goals that will guide Cork County Council’s investment and services in the arts over the next five years.
The plan will have an impact on how the arts service supports artists, makers, and those who deliver arts programmes in professional and voluntary organisations. It will also set out how the Arts Service engages with arts audiences, hardly reached communities, youth audiences and educational settings.
The Arts Office is seeking input from the arts sector, community and arts organisations, and the wider public who have an interest in the arts. The service is particularly interested to hear what value the arts have in people’s lives; how people currently engage with the arts; and how improved access to a creative activity might support wellbeing and quality of life.
They are opportunities to take part in this consultation both in person at public consultation meetings at locations around Cork County during July and online by attending a consultation meeting or by completing a survey via the button at the top of this news item. The closing date for submissions is Friday, the 16th of August.
