Cancer survivor Joanie Hanley has come up with another novel idea to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society and Breakthrough Cancer Research, an all male fashion show, on Sunday 15th November in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Little Island, Cork to raise awareness of cancers affecting men.
As a former nurse and a mother of four men and a daughter and four grandsons, Joanie had the idea of asking the first responders, i.e. : Gardai, Army, Navy, Port of Cork, Pilots & Launch Pilots, ambulance and fire crews to walk the catwalk for charity. Hence the title: “BRAVE MEN WALKING”
Joanie
wanted to highlight the important role these men play in our society and to
honour the men in all our lives: Dad’s, Grandad’s,brothers, uncles, cousins etc.,.These
everyday heroes walk among us every day so why not come along and support them
as they walk the catwalk. Remembering also that November is male cancer
awareness month.
