Newmarket Alzheimer Café

Looking forward to our first Autumn Alzheimer Café on Thursday 7^th September 11am-1pm. Amy Murphy Dementia Advisor with The Alzheimer Society of Ireland will be speaking about ‘Living well with dementia’.

Tea, coffee and refreshments will be served and it will be an opportunity to share experiences  in an informal setting, This is taking place in The Culturlann, Newmarket P51 D854.

Transition Year Programme

 

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland  has created a Creating a Dementia Inclusive Generation’ Transition Year Programme in collaboration with the Dementia Services Information and Development Centre

It aims to educate teenagers about dementia and to reduce stigma.
It is an  E-learning programme contains five modules of self-directed learning on the Moodle platform.

These include:
-Growing Older
_The Brain
-Brain Health
-What is Dementia?
-Perceptions of Dementia
The Project is an official Challenge Partner with An Gaisce The President’s Award.
