The culture programme for Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.

Cork County Council’s Cultural Programme for Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union 2026, along with Cork City Council’s Programme, delivers a broad, inclusive programme of cultural activity that celebrates Cork’s long standing European connections while enhancing civic participation during the Presidency. 

The programme combines the expansion of existing cultural festivals and events with a series of initiatives developed specifically to mark the Presidency, spanning literature, music, heritage, visual arts, children’s programming, community sport and tourism. Delivered through strong partnerships with cultural organisations, libraries, twinning groups and community stakeholders across the county, the programme celebrates intercultural dialogue, linguistic diversity and shared European heritage.
