Cork County Council’s Historic Monuments Advisory Committee is delighted to announce the delivery of three Workshops on the‘Conservation of Historic Ruins’
Do you have a ruined historic building in need of some TLC?
Is your community group involved in maintaining a local historic graveyard, perhaps one that contains the ruin of a historic church?
If yes, then you will be interested to hear that The Historic Monuments Advisory Committee (HMAC) has organized a series of training workshops on theConservation of Historic Ruins.
These workshops will to take place in the Garryvoe Hotelon 23rd October, in the Grand Hotel, Fermoy on 24thOctober, and in theWest Lodge Hotel, Bantry on 25thOctober.
These workshops are in response to the increasing local interest in heritage buildings and their care into the future. The workshops will provide an opportunity to learn how best to deal with such buildings and will address conservation issues, best practice, legislation and procedure. They will highlight practical examples of successful projects.
The workshops will start at 10am and will be a series of lectures in the morning and a short afternoon session and will conclude with a discuss and Q & A.
Individuals and/or groups are welcome to attend but spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come basis.
The workshops are free of charge.
