FARMING FOR NATURE AWARDS 2019

The purpose of the Farming for Nature Award is to share positive stories of how farming and nature can work hand-in-hand with the hope of creating new role models for sustainable farming across Ireland. Last year we had some outstanding ambassadors nominated and we wish to build on that going forward. This invitation to nominate is an opportunity for you to acknowledge a farmer/farm family whose commitment and contribution to Irish nature is, in your opinion, worth celebrating and sharing. It’s a chance to show this farmer/farm family that you appreciate their work.  It is a very simple and free online nomination form.  To find out how to nominate, please go here www.farmingfornature.ie/awards/nomination

The Awards are for farmers who
  • Have made a significant contribution to the protection or enhancement of nature on their farm and/or in their locality.
  • Are farming in a manner that is agriculturally, economically and socially progressive.
  • Have shared their passion with others (eg through walks, local media etc).
  • Have a record of engagement with other stakeholders.
  • Were not shortlisted in previous years.  See here.
Nominations can be for individual farmers or, even better, farm families.
This award is supported by Bord Bia’s Origin Green programme and the deadline for nominations is the 12th May, 2019.
