Junior parkrun is a weekly timed 2km event for junior (4-14 year olds) walkers, joggers and runners of all standards and their families. It offers an opportunity for all the family to get involved and come together on a regular basis to enjoy Ballincollig Regional Park and encourages everyone to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all.
When is it?
It is held every Sunday at 9:30am (everyone is encourage to arrive by 9.20 at the latest)
Starting this Sunday 30th June 2019.
Where is it?
The event takes place at Ballincollig Regional Park, Ballincollig, Co. Cork. (the starting point is near the allotment car park)
What does it cost to join in?
Nothing - it's FREE!
But please register both adults and children before your first visit by logging onto www.parkrun.ie/register. You only need to register with parkrun once but don't forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode on the day of the event.
What do I need to do?
Taking part is easy – just register in advance before your first ever parkrun. Your individual barcode can then be used for this weekly 2k run, and any of the weekly parkruns around the country.
How fast do I have to be?
It’s non-competitive and children can sprint, walk, jog or skip their way around the course; the aim is to have fun!
Please come along and join in whatever your pace! Bikes are not allowed!
All families are encouraged to come down and join in; it doesn’t matter if you have never attended a junior parkrun before. It’s really about being active and making new friends in a fun and safe environment for children. This is a great opportunity to get young children active and improving their health, fitness and confidence from a young age in a great location!
