The Part You Played in #CommunityResponseIRL message from The Wheel

It has been our pleasure to work so closely with our members over the last 10-weeks on the #CommunityResponseIRL campaign. The opportunity to collate and elevate the work of so many charities, community and voluntary organisations, and social enterprises - both in partnership with the media, and through our own social media and email communications - has been an honour.

We'd like to share the following short video with you which captures just a glimpse of the amazing work that has been going on up and down the country over these past couple of months. We hope you find this snapshot as inspiring, positive, and impressive as all of us at The Wheel do...

Capturing and demonstrating the sort of impact depicted in the video - both of the sector as a whole, and as individual organisations - will be of the utmost importance over the coming months as we move through the phases of COVID-19 recovery. This involves capturing both the stories (the real lived impact of our work on individuals, families, and entire communities), and also capturing the data (the statistics and measurements), which together portray the full impact of the our work.

We are currently in the process of developing further member supports, training, and campaigns that focus on this key area. We will be back in touch with further details in the coming weeks...

Stories truly do light up the dark. We know how invaluable this is, now more than ever, and supporting our members to tell theses stories will remain one of our campaigning priorities. Our deepest thanks to all who shared the story of their work with us over the last few weeks and we look forward to working with you on the next iteration of this work very soon.

And now... #PutCommunityFirst

In the meantime, we are asking you to work with us to ensure that charities, community and voluntary organisations, and social enterprises, are properly recognised in the next Programme for Government.

We urge you to take action now by contact your local TD using our online tool, to re-iterate to them how crucial it is that the sector is supported and resourced to serve the communities and individuals which rely on them.

Do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions,

Sarah
