Press Release - 44th Annual Walk Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland

FERMOY BRANCH NORTH & EAST CORK


The 44th Annual Walk-in aid of the Fermoy Branch Multiple Sclerosis Society takes place on

Sunday the 15th of June from 10am–4pm (Father’s Day), in Glansheskin Forest Recreation Area

(Kilworth Wood). We are delighted to be back again this year in the beautiful forest landscape

and our committee members are looking forward to meeting you all on the day. The trail we take

is approx. 10km, but you can choose to do as much as you want, amble in the countryside, bring a

picnic, and don’t forget the camera to capture those nature and family shots. The Hot Favourite

Food Stall will be on site as well as the Irish Red Cross and Porto loo,s so why not join our

 Invite your friends, family, and work colleagues to knock the dust off thosewalking boots

 and take the challenge for those in your local area with MS on Sunday 15th of June. (Father’s Day).

MS Ireland through their 29 voluntary Branches throughout Ireland provides a number of

valuable supports and service to people and their families living with the challenges of MS.

(Information Line: 0818 233 233). Our voluntary branch here in the Fermoy/North and East

Cork area, like all other branches across the country are a support network for people and

families living with MS in our community, and on our renewed walk we will have fun while at the

same time raising much needed funds. (No amount is too small)

The route to the wood from Kilworth Village is approx. 1.5km and will be signposted. When

parking, take care not to block access for local residents or the Emergency Services.

1. Please make yourself aware of Coillte Safety signs on site before commencing the walk

2. Wear comfortable walking shoes/boots, be mindful of underfoot conditions. Dress

appropriately for weather conditions

3. Please do not stray from the signed route, this is for your protection and safety.

4. Always keep children closely supervised while on the walk.

5. Please keep the area free of litter: adhere to the “Leave No Trace” code.

6. Guard against all risks of fire

Stewards are available throughout the walk with help & advice. Please enjoy the walk & we look forward to seeing the pictures on social media of you getting out there and having fun.
