Mayor Welcomes €900,000 Funding for Four Key Projects Under Town and Village Renewal Scheme

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Mary Linehan Foley, has welcomed the allocation of €900,000 in funding for four transformative projects under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme (TVRS) for 2025. The investment aims to rejuvenate town centres, boost local economies, combat dereliction, and enhance outdoor spaces across rural Cork.

The funding will support projects that drive economic growth, increase town footfall, and promote tourism, while creating vibrant, welcoming community spaces.

Project Allocations:

Passage West – €300,000 for improvement and remedial works at the Passage West Community Centre, including energy efficiency upgrades.
Rathcormac – €300,000 for the construction of a new village centre plaza, enhanced streetscape, and landscaping at the junction near the Rathcormac Inn, creating a focal point for the Village Core.
Youghal – €250,000 for weather slating and window works at the historic Youghal Clock Gate Tower.
Mitchelstown – €50,000 under the Project Development Measure for the renovation of the derelict FCA Hall and adjoining walled courtyard into a Community Hall, outdoor recreation space, and garden.
