Ballydehob is set to benefit from substantial investment in its recreational spaces, as Cork County Council, supported by national funding programmes, delivers major enhancements to the village tennis courts and local playground.

Upgrade works at Ballydehob Tennis Courts and Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) were completed with support from the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht under the CLÁR Programme, alongside a valuable contribution from Ballydehob Community Council, whose ongoing support helped bring the project to fruition. The works included drainage and groundwork, a new porous asphalt playing surface, line marking, new basketball hoops, and replacement perimeter fencing and gates, bringing the facilities up to modern standards.

In addition, Cork County Council secured funding through the Town and Village Renewal Scheme to enhance the Ballydehob Playground. Located adjacent to the village centre, the playground is an important community amenity.
