Free membership Cork County Library

FREE membership to all Cork County Libraries from January 2016
Cork County Council is delighted to announce that from January 2016, membership of Cork County Library is free for everyone.
Joining the library allows access to over a million books, daily and archived newspapers, journals, DVDs, audio books, e-books, e-audio books and e-magazines, to name but a few of the services available. There really is something for everyone.
With 28 branches countywide, you will be able to access your local library and browse the variety of publications on offer. Cork County Library will also endeavor to fulfill a stock request if you are in search of a particular book. Over 70,000 stock requests are fulfilled every year to library members. Cork County Library also has 4 mobile libraries on the road serving approximately 400 stops on a fortnightly basis, making access as convenient as possible to the people of Cork County.
Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. John Paul O’ Shea said “Cork County Council recognises the importance of education in our communities through its library services and the important contribution it makes to the social and cultural life of County Cork. This is a wonderful opportunity for the people of Cork to now engage with our Library services free of charge and I would encourage, children, parents and adults to engage with our Libraries right throughout the county and enjoy the magnificent service on offer”.
There is a wide array of services available at Cork County Library, from being a place to study, go online or partake in any of the cultural events that are carried throughout the year as well as borrowing, all you have to do is call in with a proof of identity with an address and join today, for FREE!
