Event: Harpers Island Volunteer Day
Location: Harpers Island, Glounthaune, Co. Cork
Additional Information: BirdWatch Ireland is hosting a volunteer day at Harpers Island, Glounthane this Saturday 12 October from 10am -1pm. We are looking for people to help with tree maintenance, invasive species clearance work and general clearing up jobs. Wellie’s or boots essential and working gloves if you have them. We will be meeting at 10am at the first hide (just past the railway overpass). Access to the island is via the railway overpass opposite the new Harpers Island Creek development in Glounthane. You can get there via train also. To follow our progress (building nature trails, and developing birdwatching facilities etc) on the Island, you can follow us at ‘Harper’s Island Wetlands’ on Facebook and @islandwetlands on Twitter.
