Additional Information: The Irish Congress of Trade Unions, under the auspices of the government’s Decade of Centenaries programme, is supporting three conferences this Autumn – in Belfast, Cork, Galway – that explore the relationship of the labour movement to the struggle for Irish independence. The Cork conference, which is co-hosted by the UCC School of History and the Cork Council of Trade Unions, is entitled ‘Labour in the ‘War Zone’: class, gender and the independence struggle in Munster, 1916-21’.
