STRESS CONTROL: Say YES to Less Stress

Image result for STRESS CONTROL: Say YES to Less StressStress Control is a FREE course that runs over six weeks.  If you want to learn practical ways to handle common problems such as anxiety, depression, low self-confidence, poor sleep and panic attacks then Stress Control is the course for you.

Stress Control is a class – not group therapy – so you do not have to talk about your problems in front of others.  You are invited to sit back, listen and learn some great ways to manage stress.  This approach was devised by Dr. Jim White – a Clinical Psychologist in Glasgow – and is now used across the world. Stress Control will be run by Dr Veronica Byrne, Clinical Psychologist and Lucy Phillips, Assistant Psychologist with the HSE North Cork Primary Care Psychology Service this February 13th to March 19th.

People who attended Stress Control groups in Cork have said:

“It reminded me that life can be stressful, I am not alone and help is there...it’s nothing to be ashamed of ”

“Some of the symptoms I have experienced, I didn’t realise were stress related”

‘I got a better understanding of what was happening in my body and how to control it’

What happens in each of the sessions?

Session 1: What is stress and first steps.
Session 2: Manage your body: relaxation, exercise
Session 3: Manage your thoughts: learn to think your way out of stress
Session 4: Manage your actions: boost self-confidence
Session 5: Manage your panic
Session 6: Manage your sleep problems; control your future

You will get FREE booklets and a FREE relaxation CD when you come on the course.
It is advised that you attend all of the 6 sessions if possible.

The course will run in the Conference Room on the ground-floor of the Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre, Gouldshill, Mallow. It will take place every Thursday evening for six weeks from 6.00- 7.30 pm. The course will start on Thursday the 13th of February and run until the 19th of March 2020.
