HI all,
I am emailing you about two upcoming blocks of dementia information sessions for relatives of people with a diagnosis of dementia taking place over the next few months in Mallow and in Blackrock .
Mallow
We are running a six week block of information and support sessions for relatives of people with a diagnosis of dementia. It will begin on Thursday 11th May 2023 and will run each consecutive Thursday evening for six weeks, finishing Thursday 15th June 2023. It will be held from 7-9.15 pm on the floor 2 of Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre. It is free of charge and any family members are welcome to attend.
However places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
A range of topics will be covered including:
• An overview of dementia
• Changing relationships
• Communication
• Legal issues
• Understanding behaviour
• Engaging in activities
• Safety at home
• Looking after yourselves
• Accessing information and support
• Personal care
• Nutrition and eating well
