Multiple Sclerosis Society Fermoy Branch Annual Walk (North & East Cork)

 MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY OF IRELAND
FERMOY BRANCH NORTH & EAST CORK

The 43rd Annual Walk-in aid of the Fermoy Branch Multiple Sclerosis Society takes place on
Sunday the 16th of June from 10am–4pm (Father’s Day), in Glansheskin Forest Recreation Area
(Kilworth Wood). We are delighted to be back again this year in the beautiful forest landscape
and our committee members are looking forward to meeting you all on the day.

MS Ireland through their 29 voluntary Branches throughout Ireland provides a number of
valuable supports and service to people and their families living with the challenges of MS.
(Information Line: 0818 233 233). Our voluntary branch here in the Fermoy/North and East
Cork area, like all other branches across the country are a support network for people and
families living with MS in our community, and on our renewed walk we will have fun while at the
same time raising much needed funds. (No amount is too small).

So why not join the Facebook page Fermoy Multiple Sclerosis Society Annual Walk | Facebook
& view the updates. Invite your friends, family and work colleagues to knock the dust off those
walking boots and take the challenge for those in your local area with MS on Sunday 16th of
June. (Father’s Day).

To get involved, register free on https://www.ms-society.ie/fermoy-branch-annual-fathers-day-
walk or email msi.fermoy@gmail.com and registration is also available on the day. Online
donations available at https://www.idonate.ie/team/MSFermoyBranch or on the day and
Sponsorship Cards are also available, phone 089 9548177.

It is advisable to park in Kilworth Village as parking is limited within the forest area. The route
to the wood is approx. 1.5km and will be signposted. When parking, take care not to block access
for residents or the Emergency Services.

1. Please make yourself aware of Coillte Safety signs on site before commencing the walk
2. Wear comfortable walking shoes/boots, be mindful of underfoot conditions. Dress
    appropriately for weather conditions
3. Please do not stray from the signed route, this is for your protection and safety.
4. Always keep children closely supervised while on the walk.
5. Please keep the area free of litter: adhere to the “Leave No Trace” code.
6. Guard against all risks of fire

Stewards are available throughout the walk with help & advice and the Irish Red Cross will be on
site again this year. Please enjoy the walk & we look forward to seeing the pictures on social
