Cork County Council has signed a contract with J.D. Buckley Construction Ltd. for the development of 16 social housing units at Sleaveen East, Macroom, Co. Cork. The new homes will consist of a mix of four 2-bedroom townhouses, ten 1-bedroom apartments and two 2-bedroom apartments. The total cost of the scheme is expected to be in the region of €3.3m ex VAT. 

This will be the second phase of the development by Cork County Council, the recently completed first phase has delivered an 8-unit apartment development on a derelict vacant site in the town centre.

The project has been brought from detailed design to construction stage by a multidisciplinary team led by Cork County Council’s Housing Directorate Architect’s Section, Ray Keane Associates Civil and Structural Engineers, Karl Slyne Quantity Surveyors Ltd and DKP Building Services.
