Press Release
The Environmental Forum invites you to join them for a panel discussion with local election candidates in the North Cork area. This is an open public event which will take place at Adair Hall on Thursday 2th May from 7pm -9pm. Discussion with the candidates will consider the recently published County Climate Action Plan 2024 -2029 which sets out the ambition of the County during the period of the newly elected Council. Questions from attendees will be welcomed and we expect that the topics will be wide ranging from biodiversity and climate adaptation, to transport, the circular economy, SDGs & more. North Cork communities, like the rest of the County, are impacted by the challenges of climate, biodiversity loss, planning for increases in population and transforming the economy. We encourage people to attend to engage with the candidates and hear their views and the views of their party on these critical issues that affect everyone’s life. Not every constituency will be covered, therefore, candidates from Fermoy, Kanturk/Mallow and Macroom have been invited to attend the North Cork event, with a limit of one representative per party on the panel. People are encouraged to book via Eventbrite as capacity of the venue is limited.
