Dementia Information Evening
We are delighted to be working with the HSE Cork North Community Work Department to host an information evening on Wed 8th May, 6.30-9pm in the Midelton Park Hotel.
Speakers include Dr Emma Jennings, Consultant Geriatrician in Mallow General Hospital, Charlie Drake who has a diagnosis of dementia, Jenny Hanna who cares for her mother and Amy Murphy Dementia Advisor with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

Bealtaine Variety Concert
We are really looking forward to the Bealtaine Variety Concert which is taking place on Sunday 19th May, 3-5.30 in the Hibernian Hotel, Mallow, P51 HE63.
This exciting event is a fundraiser for the North Cork Dementia Alliance and there are a lots of fantastic performers taking part including our very own Singing for the Brain Songbirds (see enclosed flyer for the full line up).
Tickets are €10 and can be purchased on the door.

Newmarket/Kanturk Dementia Café - Takes place on Thursday 2nd May in the Culturlann Newmarket, 11am-1pm. Ethne Foley will be speaking about the local social prescribing service.
Pilot Ukulele Group
There are still a limited number of places available:
We are delighted to be piloting a six week ukulele group for people with cognitive impairment. This group start on Monday 13th May and will run for six Monday mornings from 1.30-2.15 in Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre.
Learning an instrument is a great way of challenging your brain and we hope this group will also fun and sociable, further contributing to brain health. For more information or to book your place phone either of us

Carrigaline Alzheimer Café will take place on Thursday the 9th of May in The Carrigaline Family Support Centre from 3pm to 5pm.
Senior Occupational Therapist, Ciara O'Neill will be there to discuss " Memory Aids to Support People with Dementia
Ballincollig Alzheimer Café will take place on Thursday the 16th of May in The Chapel Gate Café in Ballincollig P31XP38, FRO, 4pm to 6pm.

Bessboro Carer Support Meeting will take place on Wednesday the 8th of May , in Bessboro Day Care Centre, Blackrock, T12HF70 from 3pm to 4:30pm.
Bessboro Tea Day / Social Club will take place on Saturday the 25th of May in Bessboro Day Care Centre, Blackrock , T12HF70 from 1pm to 3pm. There will be live music on the day with the fabulous Anthony Mehigan, so there will be plenty of singing and dancing-and of course loads of lovely nibbles. There will also have some terrific Spot Prizes on the day.
