Fermoy Dementia Café takes place tomorrow (22nd May) in Adair Hall, 2.30-4.30. Patricia O’Brien from Alone will be speaking about their services
Newmarket/Kanturk Dementia Café takes place in the Culturlann, Newmarket 11am-1pm. Mary Sheehan with Sheehan Pharmacy will be speaking about medication and dementia
Other dementia services
Cork Alzheimer Café takes place Friday 31st May in St Finbarrs Hospital Activity Centre at 11am. There will be an art therapy session with Gillian and Inga from the Crawford Gallery. No booking required, Any queries contact 085 148 5800.
A series of Creative Carers Art Mornings are taking place this May and June in Bantry. The workshops are facilitated by Arts for Health artist Sharon Dipity. The first workshop takes place on Thurs 30th May from 11am to 1pm in the Maritime Hotel. While they are not specifically for carers of people with dementia, they may be of interest. Other dates are Thurs 6th June, Thurs 13th June, Thurs 20th June. To book your place contact Catherina on 087 910 3036.
Singing for the Brain, Fermoy has started up again on Monday afternoons, 2.30-4pm in Adair Hall. To book your place contact Jacinta McCormack on 085 8742320.
Macroom Memory Café takes place on Monday 27th May at 11am in The Castle Hotel, Main St, Macroom. Contact Judy Nicoll on 087 223 4831
Nathan Carter Fundraiser for The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, Irish Kidney Association, and Breakthrough cancer Research takes place on Friday the 25th October in the Arches Mallow. Tickets are 30 euro available online at Eventbrite or from Kielys Garage Mallow or ring Catherine Kiely on 087 6793135.
