Over €233,000 to be allocated to Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District Community Groups in 2017

The Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District of Cork County Council has this week announced its allocations for it’s annual Municipal District Fund Schemes with over €233,000 to be allocated during 2017.
There were three separate distinct funding Schemes in which communities applied for funding. The three funding schemes were as follows:
1. Capital Fund Scheme – Grant aid for capital infrastructural projects costing in excess of €20,000.
2. Community Contracts – Grant aid for local communities who are willing to work in partnership with Cork County Council on specific works and projects in their area as agreed in advance by local Area Engineer.
3. Amenity Fund Scheme – Grand aid for local communities who intend to spend less than €20,000 in upgrading their facilities and communities.
Some of the community groups funded this week by the Kanturk/Mallow Municipal District were as follows:

  • Kanturk Graveyard Committee – Equipment – €300
  • Dromahane Development and Tidy Towns Committee – Tidy Towns work – €700
  • Glantane Community Council – Bus Shelter and planters – €700
  • Kilbrin Community Council – Flower beds and fencing – €700
  • Lombardstown Community Council – Signage and planting – €700
  • Mallow Tidy Towns – Tidy Towns annual maintenance and planting – €3,800
  • Twopothouse Development Association – Tidy Towns annual work – €700
  • Banteer Tidy Towns – Annual tidy towns work – €700
  • Knocknagree Fairfield & Tidy Towns Committee – Building of pathway and Tidy Towns Work – €1,600
  • Milstreet Tidy Towns Committee – Wildflower Garden and purchase of lawnmower – €1,800
  • Clonfert Graveyard Committee – Maintenance of graveyard – €350
  • Dromina Community Council CLG – Maintenance of village – €700
  • Freemount Tidy Towns – Annual works – €700
