A series of public meetings will be held over the coming weeks to discuss the water bodies of County Cork in the context of the draft River Basin Management Plan for Ireland 2018 - 2021. If you are you are interested in water quality, biodiversity, heritage, water based recreation and tourism, or matters affecting your local water body then this is an opportunity to share your knowledge and have your say.
The meetings will outline the contents of the draft River Basin Management Plan along with details on how you can input into the final plan. The Waters & Communities Office aims to get local communities more involved in protecting and enhancing local water bodies for the benefit of everyone. Kieran Murphy, Community Waters Officer for Cork will present this information and facilitate discussion on the interests and issues that emerge:
Times, dates and venues of the initial Cork meetings are set out below, with further meetings in other locations to follow. There will be refreshments after the meeting and opportunities to network.
