The ART of LIVING
Cork County Council Library & Arts Service invites applications to be part of a new and exciting project The ART of Living. Funded under the Creative Ireland Positive Ageing and Creative Wellbeing Challenge Fund, The Art of Living is a short film about creativity which highlights, showcases and celebrates a selected group of our older citizens. The film will document a group of people who, despite their advancing years, are still highly active in the community and the arts. It will explore the idea of creativity in its widest sense and will seek to explore how a creative and positive approach to living shapes the quality of life experienced by this group.
The aim of this film is to interview older people who continue to draw strength from their creativity. The settings in which the interviews will be held will be important in establishing the context of each participant’s life. The central theme is one of positivity and creativity.
The film will be approximately 30 minutes, produced to a very technical and artistic standard and will be broadcast quality. We would intend that the film will be submitted to be included as part of Positive Ageing Week and circulated to day care centres and hospitals in the county.
The Film maker will be Cormac O’Connor
Applicants should submit a video, a song, a piece of writing or an artistic statement of some kind as to why they should be considered.
Submissions should be sent to sinead.donnelly@corkcoco.ie with The Art of Living in the subject line
