Carrigtwohill
Community Council were Winners at the Annual Muintir na Tire Pride in our Community Awards
held in the Kingsley Hotel last night. Their project involved Development of
Carrigtwohill
Community Campus
Refurbished and
Extended Community Centre to include multipurpose rooms and disability
accessible toilets – modern meals on wheels kitchen .
New dressing
rooms also at our existing all- weather Pitch.
Newly Improved
Parking facilities , -Community Garden and outdoor Gym equipment and they were highly praised by the judges for their efforts. The Deputy
Mayor of County Cork Cllr.Ian Doyle congratulated them and praised them
for their efforts on behalf of their community.
The Deputy Mayor
of County Cork Cllr.Ian Doyle commended
all the great projects on view, and he praised all the groups involved for
their fantastic work and commitment to their localities. He said Cork County
Council are committed to supporting this competition as they had been since it
started eighteen years ago.

Pride in Our Community is organised
by Cork County Federation Muintir na Tire and is supported by Cork City Council
and Cork County Council. Each year we acknowledge,
and reward groups engaged in various community initiatives, such as:

upgrades to community centres

Enhancements to
monuments and amenity areas
·
River clean-ups, Walks
and Trails.

Installation of
community signs and murals
·
Development of
biodiversity areas and community gardens
·
Restoration of
graveyards

Creation of floral
displays in streetscapes
·
Establishment of
all-weather facilities and tree planting

Floral bedding and
more!
