A HOLDING SPACE: HONOURING THE BÁBÓG PROJECT & REMEMBERING ALL LOSS
Wednesday 15th October | 11am to 4pm | Fermoy Library, Connolly Street
Join us in a gentle, respectful space with the spirit of The Bábóg Project — a heartfelt creative act of remembering each of the 9,000 babies that are said to have lost their lives in Ireland’s mother and baby institutions. This community event is for anyone who carries loss, especially those affected by infant loss, miscarriage, or other quiet griefs. Here, your loss is seen, your story matters, and you are held with care.
The Bábóg dolls, handmade with love for each baby, are offered freely to all who wish to take one home. These tiny dolls are a symbol of remembrance, compassion, and ongoing care — a way to say: “You and your loss matter. We see you. We remember.”
Whether your grief is recent or long-held, spoken or silent, you are welcome here. Take a Bábóg doll home as a quiet friend on your path of remembering and healing.
Community groups or spaces are also invited to “home the dolls” by creating displays or care corners.
